About Us

A & W Black (Motors) was originally formed in the late 1970's by Alec & William Black as a part time business carrying out Vehicle Servicing & Repairs, eventually developing into a full time business in the early 1990's, building up a loyal customer base in and around the Scottish Borders.

Alec's Son, Gary was brought up around the Garage environment, being involved from an early age.  After starting his working life as a Precision Engineer, gaining HNC's in Engineering Manufacture and Mechanical Engineering he later gained his City and Guilds Level 3 in Light Vehicle Maintenance and Repair before taking on the running of the Garage in 2014.

Many of our Customers have been with us since the beginning and in many cases we now look after cars for the younger generations of our original Customers.

Our aim is to offer a friendly and efficient Service to our Customers, keeping their vehicles running efficently and in the event of a breakdown, getting them back on the road as soon as possible.
